Free motion embroidery Funky Folk Flowers by Shara Reiner

Mi sto appassionando al free motion embroidery, lo trovo originale e molto creativo e i disegni di Shara Reiner sono ideali, molto folky.

Dal numero di Aprile di Paintwork ho estratto questo cesto di fiori. Ho usato carta, centrino di carta, stoffa, warm and natural batting, stoffa di cotone colorata, feltro e fili colorati per la macchina da cucire.

Ho invecchiato la stoffa e il centrino di carta. Ho usato metà centrino per fare la base di appoggio del cesto. Il cesto è di carta con il bordo e il manico di feltro. I fiori sono di feltro, le foglioline di stoffa e il centro dei fiori ancora di carta.

Una volta cucito tutti i pezzi su un sandwich di stoffa e warn&natural battin con la tecnica del free motion, ho dipinto con gli acrilici annacquati il cesto di carta e sfumato tutto intorno al disegno.

I’m getting addict to the free motion embroidery. It’s a nice and creative tecnique and Shara Reiner drawings fit really well, sooo folky!

I used a part of  one of her drawings from April Paintwork.

I use old book paper sheet, paper doily, muslin, warn&natural battin, fgelt, colored fabric, colored embroidery floss for sewing machine.

I coffee dyed the muslin and the papaer doily. I used half of the paper doily bor the basket baseplate. The basked is made of paper while the border and the hanger is made of felt. I used also felt flowers and green fabric leaves. The venter of the flowers is made of paper too.

Once I have sewed the all the pieces onto a sandwich of muslin and warm&natural battin, I painted the paper basket with washed acrylics and shaded all around the drawing.
