Primitive stitchery tutorial

Questi sono i 3 punti fondamentali per il primitive stitchery:

PUNTO INDIETRO

E' il punto più semplice e più usato per il primitive stitchery. E' utilizzato per le scritte e per i contorni dei disegni. Il filo viene inserito dove dovrebbe finire il primo punto e l'ago viene inserito indietro dove dovrebbe iniziare il primo punto. Si continua inserendo l'ago alla fine del punto precedente e così via seguente la linea del disegno

PUNTO ERBA

E' simile al punto indietro con una piccola variante, si fa uscire l'ago alla fine del punto precedente. Anche il punto erba è usato per le scritte e per i contorni dei disegni che risultano leggermente in rilievo. Non è adatto per piccoli disegni con curve molto strette.

PUNTO NODINO

E' proprio un piccolo nodo. Si usa in genere per gli occhi delle bamboline. Il filo viene tirato dalla parte destra della stoffa e avvolto due o tre volte (a seconda dello spessore del nodo) all'ago e quindi l'ago viene infilato dove si vuole il nodino

BACKSTITCH
This stitch is probably used more than any other, and is very simple. It is used for stitching lettering and outlining shapes. The thread is first inserted where normally the first stitch would end, and then the needle is drawn backwards and inserted again where normally the first stitch would begin. Just keep stitching backwards in this manner until design is completed.

OUTLINE STITCH
The stitch is similar to the backstitch, with just a slight variation. It is also used for lettering and outlining shapes. The thread is held to one side with the thumb on the other hand while the stitching is done.

FRENCH KNOT
This stitch is just what the name implies, a knot. It is often used for accenting areas of a stitchery design, or used for doll’s eyes. The thread is pulled straight up to the right side of the fabric at the place where a knot is desired. The thread is then wound around the needle tip, (twice is the usual, but it depends on the size knot needed) and then the tip of needle is reinserted in fabric closely to the left of the first insertion.
